Dr.Jan Scholten

Scholten has combined the concepts and organization of the APG III system and the Element system and used them as the underpinning of his new Periodic Plant System. In his Plant system, the Angiosperm phylum corresponds to the Gold/Lanthanide series in the periodic table. This represents a high level of self-reflection and evolution. Scholten believes that everyone is an Angiosperm, part of the monophyletic group (clade), i.e. descended from a common evolutionary ancestor or ancestral group, especially one not shared with any other group. It is the sixth series and represented by the number 6.

As in his Element System, answering the question “what is the problem” in case analysis leads you to a series. This is reflected in the Plant System through the class, for example, monocots. Once that is determined, you ask “what is the main focus of the case”, which leads you to the sub-class. There are seven classes and seven sub-classes which mirror the periodic table series. To determine the phase and sub-phase, you ask “what happens (externally)”, “how it is for them”, “and how do they feel about it”. There are seven phases, and seven sub-phases which take the 17 periodic table stages and synthesize them into seven. Finally, “how they handle it”and “how they react to what happens” is the stage as it is in the Element System, e.g. she fights (stage 12). There are seventeen stages.

The Periodic Plant System diagrams and charts lead you to answering these questions. Complete detailed charts, including those essential for determining the sub-phase of the prescription, will be available in the book.

Does homeopathic treatment require refraining from eating some food articles? Especially coffee, tea, mint, garlic, onion, alcohol?

This is a common question and there goes a myth with it at times.

Going little in the background will help to understand this better. The homeopathic medicines are essentially taken by mouth; and the pills or globules get absorbed in the oral cavity.

Though we do not still know the exact mechanism how it works, but we believe the medicines get absorbed in the oral mucosa. Since the medicine gets absorbed and acts from the mouth, it is suggested that the mouth should be clean from strong food articles, taste and fragrances.

Since coffee, onion, garlic and mint have strong odor, it was suggested that they are better avoided during the course of homeopathic treatment.

Our experience says that above stated articles may be consumed if you are on homeopathic regimen, provided you keep a gap of about half an hour between the intake of medicine and such food articles; not hampering the action of the medicine.

We have observed and documented that if such discipline is observed, the homeopathic medicines do work; without banning those food articles.

There may be some food restrictions because of ones illness such as high blood pressure (to avoid salt), gastritis (to avoid spicy), Hepatitis C (avoid deep-fried food); and because of their effect on the homeopathic medicines.   From Life Force Homoeopathy

How Does Homeopathy Work

How does homeopathy work ?

The dilutions and the memory of water theory

The aspect of homeopathy that is implausible for many people is that the medicines are often – though by no means always – diluted to the point where there may be no molecules of original substance left. One of the leading current proposals for how such ‘ultramolecular’ dilutions work is that water is capable of storing information relating to substances with which it has previously been in contact.1
The structure of waterRecent research on hydrogen bonds in water provides some support for this ‘memory’ theory. The Swiss chemist, Louis Rey, found that the structure of hydrogen bonds in homeopathic dilutions of salt solutions is very different from that in pure water.2 He reached the conclusion that the phenomenon results from the vigorous shaking of solutions that takes place during homeopathic ‘succussion’. Moreover, using the laboratory technique called spectroscopy, other researchers have found that different homeopathic medicines and different dilutions of the same medicine can be distinguished from each other, even though all should contain nothing but water.3
Molecular clustersAn alternative mechanism is suggested by the results of research from South Korea. Studies on molecular clustering in water solutions showed that as a solution is made more and more dilute, very stable and larger ‘clumps’ of material develop in dilute solutions rather than in more concentrated solutions.4  This means that residual molecular clusters of the original substance might just be present in homeopathic dilutions. Succussion might also be responsible for creating very tiny bubbles (nanobubbles) that could contain gaseous inclusions of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide and possibly the homeopathic source material.3

Highly diluted substances exert an effect

However they work, there is increasing evidence that homeopathic dilutions have a demonstrable effect on living organisms examined under laboratory conditions. Researchers in Germany have observed an inhibitory effect of an ultra-diluted chemical on the bacterium Vibrio fischeri.5 And there is important work from a consortium of European laboratories showing that very high dilutions of histamine may exert a biologically significant effect on the white blood cells that take part in the immune response.6
Positive outcomes in 75% of studiesViewing the evidence overall, there is some experimental support for the idea that ultra-molecular homeopathic dilutions may possess unique physical properties and can exert physiological effects. A systematic review evaluated 67 in-vitro experiments in 75 publications of research on homeopathic dilutions.7 A majority of papers reported measurable effects from highly diluted substances. Positive findings were obtained in nearly three-quarters of all replicated studies, but no positive result was stable enough to be reproduced by all investigators.

IS HOMEOPATHY SAFE

Is homeopathy safe ?

Safe and effective

Homeopathy is perfectly safe. This is because homeopathic medicines are made from a very small amount of the active ingredient. Two hundred years of practice, research and trials have proved the safety of this gentle system of medicine for both people and animals.

Gentle and non-addictive

Unlike some conventional drugs, homeopathic medicines are non-addictive and have no dangerous side-effects. Homeopathy is safe to use for babies, children and pregnant or breastfeeding women, who are under the supervision of a homeopathic doctor.

WHAT IS HOMEOPATHY

What is homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a system of medicine which involves treating the individual with highly diluted substances, given mainly in tablet form, with the aim of triggering the body’s natural system of healing. Based on their specific symptoms, a homeopath will match the most appropriate medicine to each patient.

Like with like

Homeopathy is based on the principle that you can treat ‘like with like’, that is, a substance which causes symptoms when taken in large doses, can be used in small amounts to treat those same symptoms. For example, drinking too much coffee can cause sleeplessness and agitation, so according to this principle, when made into a homeopathic medicine, it could be used to treat people with these symptoms. This concept is sometimes used in conventional medicine, for example, the stimulant Ritalin is used to treat patients with ADHD, or small doses of allergens such as pollen are sometimes used to de-sensitise allergic patients. However, one major difference with homeopathic medicines is that substances are used in ultra high dilutions, which makes them non-toxic.

The science

Homeopathic medicines (which homeopaths call remedies) are prepared by specialist pharmacies using a careful process of dilution and succussion (a specific form of vigorous shaking).
As yet, science has not been able to explain the mechanism of action of ultra high dilutions in the body, but laboratory experiments have repeatedly demonstrated that homeopathically prepared substances cause biological effects. For example, the hormone thyroxine prepared as a homeopathic ‘30C’ dilution can slow down the process of metamorphosis of tadpoles into frogs.1

One theory is that during the production of a homeopathic medicine, the dilution and agitation processes cause an interaction between the original material (e.g. a plant such as Belladonna) and the water and alcohol it is mixed with. This creates tiny new structures (nanostructures) which are the ‘active ingredient’ and remain present even when the sample has been diluted many, many times.2
There is also a growing body of research evidence that homeopathic medicines have clinical effects.

Its origins

The principle of treating “like with like” dates back to Hippocrates (460-377BC) but in its current form, homeopathy has been widely used worldwide for more than 200 years.
It was discovered by a German doctor, Samuel Hahnemann, who, shocked with the harsh medical practises of the day (which included blood-letting, purging and the use of poisons such as arsenic), looked for a way to reduce the damaging side-effects associated with medical treatment.
He began experimenting on himself and a group of healthy volunteers, giving smaller and smaller medicinal doses, and found that as well as reducing toxicity, the medicines actually appeared to be more effective the lower the dose. He also observed that symptoms caused by toxic ‘medicines’ such as mercury, were similar to those of the diseases they were being used to treat e.g. syphilis, which lead to the principle he described as ‘like cures like’.
Hahnemann went on to document his work, and his texts formed the foundations of homeopathic medicine as it is practised today. A BBC Radio 4 documentary aired in December 2010 described Hahnemann as a medical pioneer who worked tirelessly to improve medical practice, insisting that medicines were tested before use.
